When a child might need support

Children and young people do not always have the words for what they are feeling. It might show as worry, anger, withdrawing, trouble sleeping or changes at school. It might follow a bereavement, parents separating, bullying, or something they have not told anyone about.

Sometimes it helps to talk to someone outside the family, who is not a parent or a teacher, and who is there just for them.

How I work with younger clients

I work with children from the age of five, and with young people, in language that fits them. I am a fully registered member of the BACP and work within its ethical framework, and I hold an enhanced DBS certificate. Sessions are shaped around the child or young person, their age and what they need, and we go at their pace.
